Description

Watercolor painting of the Koosharem Amusement Hall located in Koosharem, Utah. Koosharem is a town in Sevier County, Utah. The name of the town Koosharem originates from the Native Americans indigenous to the area, the Piute Indians and their term for the valley named for the deep red clover that grows in the lush meadows of the Koosharem Valley. The population was 276 at the 2000 census. The Amusement Hall was constructed in 1914 by the community. The wood frame hall contains a gymnasium, stage, kitchen and basement. Used for dances, plays, movies, plays, basketball games, & the annual Koosharem Old Folks Party.
This was a commissioned painting.
